ARAI: Progress through Research

ARAI stands for Automotive Research Association of India. It is an industrial research association by the automotive industry which collaborates with the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India.

The director of ARAI is Mrs Rashmi Urdhwarshe. It was established in 1966 situated at the scenic Vetal hills with a land spanning 260 acres in Pune, Maharastra.

The institution has well-equipped laboratories and infrastructure. The campus library is huge, impressive and has most of the international journals required for research.

ARAI concerns itself with all the research and progress in the automotive field. It’s the first Indian institute to develop HCNG fuel engine and the only government body which is responsible for the testing, confirmation, and giving the mileage figure to all the automobiles which are sold in India.

ARAI  contributes significantly towards the safety and less polluting vehicles. It grants specialised mastery in R & D, testing, authentication and most importantly creating vehicle guidelines.

ARAI also co-ordinates with institutions like VIT Vellore to teach students with their highly qualified staff members.
