convention centre located next to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The Show is organised by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs  d’Automobiles, and is considered an important major international auto show.

Beginning with a mere 59 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors in 1905, the show is now hosts a whopping 600-700 thousand visitors each year with about 600 brands showcasing their top-notch innovations. Wondering about the space? It occupies about 79,000 sq. metres of floor-space. How big is that? Almost eleven football fields !!

This year, there is a cool line-up of cars waiting to be unveiled ranging from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante to the All -new 2017 Suzuki Swift (European Edition).

Another fact about the show which highlights its privilege is that it is held every year while other similar exhibitions at Paris, Tokyo, Frankfurt have long taken place every two years. This is due to Switzerland’s special situation. There are a very few countries where competition in the private automotive trade can develop freely without any quotas.

The cost of a ticket is 16 CHF (Swiss francs) per day. That amounts to about a thousand rupees. Cool right? Hey, wait. First we have to get there though, don’t we?

Let us all look forward this great event. Stay tuned with us for more updates. Get more info for the event here.
